The Saranac Lake and Lake Placid region contain many of the Adirondack high peaks and thousands of lakes to hike into for a quick swim. It's a short hike up Mount Baker from Little Nell or the Main house on Moody Pond ... offering one of the best views of wild forrest, mountains and lakes. Saranac Lake has it's very own hiking program called the ADK 6'ers. "A Mountain for Everyone" whos mission is to Introduce people to the tri-lakes part of the Adirondack Park. Skiing
The over six million acre Adirondack Park in Northern New York abounds with everything for the snow thrill seeker from world class downhill skiing on some of the highest peaks in the Eastern US at Whiteface Mountain and cross country skiing on the Olympic trails at the Mt. Van Hoevenberg Cross Country & Biathlon Center to challenging cross country treks through forever wild back country. For the less faint at heart, family friendly ski centers Mount Pisgah and Dewy Mountain Cross Country Center are located right in Saranac Lake.

Olympic Attractions
Lake Placid, New York is nicknamed "The Olympic Village". The village's Olympic sites are open for athletes and visitors and feature a state of art bobsled and skelton/luge track at Mt. Von Hovenburg, the Olympic Ski Jumping Complex, Speed Skating Oval, Hockey Rinks and the ski slopes of Whiteface Mountain.

Fishing & Canoeing
The Adirondack Park has 3,000 lakes and ponds and 6,000 miles of rivers and streams and the Saranac Lake Region boasts some of the finest fishing and paddling waters ranging from forever wild wilderness to the Saranac River that flows through the center of the Village of Saranac Lake. Land locked salmon, northern pike, lake trout and bass are some of the popular fish species that bring anglers from all over to test their skills.
